Who Should Apply?
Persons with a master's or doctoral degree in a health related field (e.g. MPH,
PhD, DrPH, MD, DVM) having taken at least one course in epidemiology and one
course in (bio)statistics during graduate/professional school. The primary
selection criteria are strong academic performance and recommendations, a
demonstrated interest in and the ability to practice epidemiology in Florida
public health agencies, and geographic flexibility to accept placement in any
location in Florida.
Stipends
Each fellow will receive a salary of $40,366 per year.
How to Apply
for the Class of 2011-2013?
All applicants must send the following
materials in a single package directly to the Program:
Curriculum vitae in standard format
Personal statement no longer than 2 pages of how FL-EIS training will benefit
your career and why this program interests you
Two reference letters addressed to the FL-EIS Program
Copies of transcripts from highest degree granting and public health programs
attended (official transcripts will be required from finalists prior to hire)
Copy of U.S. clinical license (if applicable)
Interviews will be offered to a limited number of applicants after prescreening
of above materials
Applicants must submit the

After
finalists are selected for the positions, they must be eligible for employment
in the state of Florida and will be required to complete an application on
People First and meet the following qualifications:
1) All responses for the
qualifying questions to the vacancy advertisement must be verifiable on your
State of Florida Employment Application
2) This position requires a security background check through E-Verify and drug
screening, and participation in direct deposit. Note: You will be required to
provide your social security number (SSN) in order to conduct this background
check.
3) Male applicants born on or after January 1, 1960 will not be eligible for
hire or promotion unless they are registered with the Selective Services System
(SSS) before their 26th birthday or have a Letter of Registration

4) If you are a retiree of the Florida Retirement System (FRS), please check
with the FRS on how your current benefits will be affected if you are
