The Office of Public Health Nursing

The Office of Public Health Nursing is responsible for representing public health nursing statewide and nationwide, promoting and supporting public health nursing through reward and recognition efforts, providing tools for public health nurses, supporting workforce development (including continuing education, seminars, education and training, satellite broadcasts, and mentoring internships), enhancing recruitment and retention efforts, promoting partnerships with associations and community partners, participating in Quality Improvement peer review visits, and coordinating and supporting the Special Needs Shelter program and Disaster Response.

MISSION:
Promote and protect health while promoting public health nursing in Florida through education, research, and evaluation.

VISION:
Champions for Healthy People in Healthy Communities - Public Health Nursing -- the Ultimate Nurse Workforce.
