Our Bureaus

The Florida Division of Disease Control consists of five bureau and A. G. Holley State Hospital.

  • A. G. Holley State Hospital (AGH)
    Vision: A. G. Holley Hospital will be nationally recognized as a Center of Excellence in the treatment of person’s with tuberculosis. We will provide the highest quality of medical care and supervision to affected individuals to assure successful completion of therapy, conduct research on tuberculosis and related diseases and share our expertise with the Medical and Lay Community.

  • Bureau of Epidemiology (EPI)
    Vision: Healthier people through excellence in epidemiology.
    Mission: To apply quality epidemiologic practice to support the promotion and protection of the health of all people in Florida.
  • Bureau of HIV/AIDS (HIV)
    Vision: The vision of the Division of Disease Control Bureau of HIV/AIDS is to significantly reduce the infection rates of HIV and viral hepatitis and provide quality services for those already infected/affected.
    Mission: The mission of the Division of Disease Control Bureau of HIV/AIDS is to promote and protect the health and safety of all people in Florida through the development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis programs.
  • Bureau of Immunization (BOI)
    Vision: Enhanced quality of life for all Floridians through the effective and efficient use of immunizations to eliminate vaccine -preventable diseases.
    Mission: Promote and protect the health of all children and adults in Florida through the reduction and eventual elimination of vaccine-preventable diseases through immunization.
  • Bureau of Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD)
    Vision: We aspire to be the preeminent STD public health service organization in the United States. We will achieve our vision through the commitment of our employees to our mission and core values, the implementation of optimized business processes, the innovative application of new technologies, the courage of our leaders, and the constant quest to continuously improve our public health services and products for the people of Florida.
    Mission:
    To improve the sexual/reproductive health of the citizens and visitors to the state.
    To prevent STDs through education of the public about sexual behaviors which decrease the risk of infection and promote sexual health.
    To locate, treat, and counsel infected/exposed persons.
    To identify and control disease outbreaks.
    To acquire, disseminate, and apply knowledge through the innovative use of technology.
    To create/expand mutually cooperative partnerships.
    To assure that STD related services are comprehensive, and of the highest quality possible.
  • Bureau of Tuberculosis & Florida Refugee Health Program (TB & FRHP)
    Vision: To be a model TB control and elimination program for the nation.
    Mission: To eliminate tuberculosis as a public health threat in Florida.
