National HIV/AIDS & Aging Awareness Day- September 18th
The Florida Department of Health, Bureau of HIV/AIDS recognizes September 18th as National HIV/AIDS & Aging Awareness Day. This day focuses on the challenging issues facing the aging population with regards to HIV prevention, testing, care, and treatment. There is an increased need for prevention, research, and data targeting the aging population, medical understanding of the aging process, and its impact on HIV/AIDS. National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day- September 27th
The Florida Department of Health, Bureau of HIV/AIDS recognizes September 27th as National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Some of the goals for this day are to 1) raise awareness about HIV/AIDS among gay men, 2) encourage HIV testing, early diagnosis and linkage to care, and 3) promote a better understanding of the complex factors that drive HIV transmission among gay men.
