Training Programs
Overview
Florida has two levels of certification for prehospital providers: EMT-Basic and EMT-Paramedic. Florida has over 49,000 certified
EMTs and Paramedics. EMTs and Paramedics provide pre-hospital care for the citizens and visitors of Florida.
There are currently over 150 state approved initial training programs

individuals desiring to become certified as EMTs and Paramedics in the state of Florida.
Students will be trained to a
national standard to enter the workforce as an entry level provider.
Requirements of EMS training programs:
- Meet all applicable requirements of the Florida Department of Education
- Submit a complete application
