Effective February 26th, 2007, newborn screening specimens submitted with blood drawn 24 hours after birth and on protein feed for over 24 hours will be considered valid for testing. Previously, blood had to be drawn 48 hours after birth to be considered valid for testing. Genetics and Newborn Screening Advisory Council:By-Laws
