Zoonoses are infectious diseases that can be naturally transmitted from animals to humans.  A number of zoonotic diseases are present in Florida.

Environmental health workers investigate reported zoonotic diseases to help prevent outbreaks in the community. The following are some examples of zoonotic diseases:

  • Cryptosporidiosis
